What is aerator?

Never heard of an aerator either. The Gascolator was poorly designed strainer/seperator that isn't low enough in the fuel system to help with much. I think this was only on the 170-182s but I could be wrong about that. Especially on tail-draggers this little device would suddenly break-loose deprise and water droplets when you lifted the tail up to take off (talk about bad timing!)...

Also, the aerator will trap any scale from the pipes and just has to be cleaned out periodically. So leave it off! Except in the kitchen where you wouldn't want any debris to end up in your drinking water, etc....
